Eagan Condo Garage starts construction

Construction recently started at one of CNH Architect’s more exclusive designs: Eagan Condo Garages. Marketed as a “unique, luxury lifestyle,” the condo garages give owners an opportunity to use the space however they see fit: storage, hobbies, relaxation, and a place to spend time with families and friends.

CNH designed two new condo garage buildings for the five acre site, which already includes four garage buildings and a clubhouse. A community for hobbyists, each unit is described by Eagan Condo Garage owner Larry Koland as “highly customizable condo-garage spaces that have successfully bridged the gap between storage and hobby.”

Each unit can be built-out to suit the owner’s tastes and interests.  Many unit owners forge friendships to create a tight-knit community. The community hopes to attract people who are down-sizing their primary residences and who subsequently need a refuge-like space for their personal interests and hobbies. The place will be safe, well-lit, quiet, private, and individually secured.

According to CNH Senior Associate and Project Manager Al Tsai, “These units are unique opportunities for interior architecture that highlight a person’s interests and hobbies – an extension of one’s personality.”

With approximately 30,000 sf of building, each unit has a loft space option, and the southern building has optional decks. The buildings are pre-engineered metal buildings.

CNH is working with Langer Construction on the build. Construction is slated to finish in August 2022.

I’ve really enjoyed working with Larry Koland (Eagan Condo Garage) and Russ Zellmer and the Langer Construction team on this project,” Tsai said.

BURNSVILLE FIRE STATION NO. 1

CNH’s largest fire station to date, the City of Burnsville’s Fire Station No. 1 is home to a crew of all full-time firefighters and more than 44,000 SF with 10 apparatus bays. Firefighter safety was one of nine top priorities for the station. Multiple contamination zones and a designated de-contamination area will allow firefighters to keep contaminated equipment and clothing in the apparatus bay until decontaminated. Another priority in the design was firefighter mental health. A warning system that slowly ramps up with alert tones and lighting while only alerting responding staff ensures firefighters are not awoken in an abrupt manner. The station includes areas for relaxation with different lighting to promote natural sleep rhythms, as well as a yoga studio and meditation garden. Extensive firefighter training features including Firefighter 1 and advanced training elements are another highlight of the station.
