A sports apparel, recreation and training business is making a move from Burnsville to the owner’s hometown of Rosemount, with a new building off State Highway 3 on the city’s south side.

CA Gear, or Custom Apparel, Inc., broke ground with much fanfare recently for a multi-function facility designed by CNH Architects.

“With this as the permanent home for his business, it was important to make sure that the design fit every aspect of Owner Nate Bry’s program,” said Senior Architectural Designer Al Tsai with CNH. Within the structure of classic black precast walls and a metal-clad main entry, there are two sides to the operation, he explains.

One will house the sports apparel manufacturing functions of embroidery and assembly, as well as a store. The other will feature batting lanes, concessions and training space for “elite” and “elite-to-be” athletes, said Tsai.

There’s a lot of community support behind Bry’s effort. He was surrounded at the groundbreaking by family and friends. The state representative for the area and the Rosemount mayor also came to show appreciation. Tsai said the contractor indicated that it was the best attended groundbreaking he had ever seen.

The designer was struck by Bry’s passion for mentorship, support and engagement of local youth athletics. The facility is under construction at 15641 Canada Circle in Rosemount.
