On August 13, 2022 the City of Plymouth celebrated the completion of Plymouth Fire Station No. 3 with an grand opening and open house celebration.
City officials and fire department staff spoke to visitors before tours were given. Firefighters were on hand throughout the station to give insight and offer additional information about each part of the station.
“I’m so thrilled about how this project turned out. It’s beautiful and functional and will serve our community well for years to come.” Mayor Jeff Wosje told the crowd. “The fire station projects in this city were necessary to accommodate the fire department’s transition to a hybrid staffing model, this better accommodates the demand for public safety in the City of Plymouth. “
Fire Chief Rodger Coppa expressed his thanks to CNH Architects’ Quinn Hutson and Brooke Jacobson, along with the rest of the team, for all of their work in the project.
“They did a great job helping us out here.”
He also noted station design features including state of the art alerting systems, individual sleeping spaces and bathrooms, on-site training features, dedicated fitness space, separation zones, and living spaces to make the station a “fire house”, a place for firefighters to truly live.

About Plymouth Fire Station No. 3
CNH designed an addition for Fire Station #3 as well as a remodel for the entire station, covering 26,000 sf. Water intrusion caused mold and unhealthy conditions making many areas unusable for the department. CNH addressed this issue in the addition while expanding the dayroom and kitchen and separating turnout gear from the apparatus bays to keep it clean and contaminant free. Additional separation was created between this storage and dorms and administrative areas to better suit the department’s needs and promote better relaxation. Residential areas were moved to the first floor for safety and to improve response times. Training features at the station include a basement training maze that can be setup in a variety of ways and filled with smoke for simulation drills, and a small training mezzanine with training opening
