Construction on the Peter J. King Family Foundation Center for Child and Family Wellbeing – Midway YMCA (St. Paul, MN) has reached the halfway point, marking a significant milestone in the project’s overall progress. At an amazing pace, the project team has continued to move steadily through major phases of construction, and the building is now taking clear shape as structural and enclosure work advances.
Currently, the upper roof installation is nearing completion, allowing interior work to move forward in enclosed areas. Exterior precast concrete wall panels are fully in place, defining the building’s footprint and supporting ongoing work inside. Slab-on-grade floors have been poured, and the structural steel frame is complete, establishing the overall form of the facility.
Wall framing on the second floor is finished, giving definition to classrooms, corridors, and support spaces – while framing on the first floor has begun and is developing throughout the entire building. Interior stairs have also been installed, creating full access between levels.
Across all disciplines, the project team continues to maintain strong coordination and flow. In the next coming months, work will transition further into mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems – along with continued interior preparation for finishes.
As the Peter J. King Family Foundation Center for Child and Family Wellbeing Midway YMCA continues rising from concept to reality, each milestone reflects the dedication, expertise, and collaboration driving this project forward. With structure, enclosure, and interior progress well underway, the vision for a vibrant, community-centered facility is becoming clearer every day. The team remains focused, coordinated, and committed as construction advances toward the final stages. We look forward to the beginning of a new chapter for the community. The project remains on schedule for a Fall 2026 opening to align with the 2026–2027 school year.
