EAGAN UTILITES REMODEL

This project encompassed remodeling the breakroom, seasonal workspaces, conference room, offices, reception area, and transaction counter. These elements contribute to both the practical utility and the aesthetic appeal of the facility.

DEPARTMENT OF NATURAL RESOURCES - ZIMMERMAN, MN

The facility features upgraded office spaces, as well as warm storage for all vehicles used in wildfire control and forest management. The renovated building replaces its previous fire station, with goals surrounding rapid response timing. With a focus on sustainability, the building utilizes domestically and responsibly sourced wood on its exteriors – along with interior materials – all of which were locally derived and as eco-conscious as possible.

NEW HORIZON ACADEMY CORPORATE OFFICE REMODEL

ZIEGLER CAT - REBUILD CENTER

CNH Architects remodeled and repurposed an existing warehouse building for this engine rebuild center in Minneapolis, MN. The existing facility was in poor condition with a leaking roof and uninsulated walls. The new facility is approximately 120,000 SF with several additions, allowing the building to function better for its new use.

The CNH Architects, located in Apple Valley, MN office features an open working environment, two conference rooms, entry area, kitchenette, copy room, and full material resource library. 

IMAGINE IT

Rustic materials such as barn wood, exposed concrete ceilings and galvanized metal set against high-end stone and quartz countertops express the client’s mix of casual social atmosphere and high-tech business operation. Luxury vinyl tile with a wood grain transitions to carpet as the space transitions from gathering space to offices and work stations.
Corrugated steel facing materials are seen with high tables and chairs featuring the company’s colors. The 11,000 square foot space houses nearly 40 employees with a focus on style and technology, all of it subtle.

AGSTAR FINANCIAL SERVICES

AgStar piloted an open-plan office expansion project, remodeling a 6,800 sf tenant space in a multi-story office building in the heart of Apple Valley. Angled walls, soffits and carpeting define a dynamic environment while warm tones soften the interior. Environmentally friendly features include occupancy sensors for lighting, recycled and low VOC content materials, and extensive daylighting provided by over 200 linear feet of exterior windows. Kitchen and office storage cabinetry boast custom millwork, and a Cambria natural quartz counter tops the peninsula bar in the café space fondly named The Orchard. Two conference rooms and nine private “enclaves” are acoustically insulated and enclosed to provide options for privacy. These rooms are scheduled on a computerized system that can be accessed remotely by phone. “Nomad” stations for employees to dock their technological devices while they are operating from this office and permanent workspace with ample storage for “residents” introduce a new definition of the common workplace. AgStar plans to adapt this pilot program to other office locations in the near future.

DMSHB TENANT IMPROVEMENT BUILD OUT

Tenant build out in a multi-story office building to house a law firm. The office is approximately 8,500 square feet and features contemporary styling. Included are 3 conference rooms, an open office area with system furniture, private offices, common work spaces, and a reception/waiting area.

CERASIS

CNH Architects helped guide this business client every step of the way, from site selection, city approvals and design to the choice of furniture and artwork. The resulting one story office building creates an exceptional work environment for all employees. A central clerestory lounge and the extensive use of daylight provide both energy saving benefits and enhanced views to the outdoors. The interior open office space is accented with stone trim, a two-sided fireplace, and custom glass divider panels with a variety of clear and translucent panes. Exterior materials include cast stone, manufactured stone, stucco, and standing seam mansards.

DAKOTA COUNTY CDA

The Dakota County Community Development Agency office building is a new 30,000 square foot two story building. It houses CDA’s administrative, client services and development functions. Along with private and open offices, the project includes a training facility and board room. Natural ponding on the property cleans and controls storm water run-off. Low glare outside lighting of the parking lot and building accents the natural environment.

BURNSVILLE FIRE STATION NO. 1

CNH’s largest fire station to date, the City of Burnsville’s Fire Station No. 1 is home to a crew of all full-time firefighters and more than 44,000 SF with 10 apparatus bays. Firefighter safety was one of nine top priorities for the station. Multiple contamination zones and a designated de-contamination area will allow firefighters to keep contaminated equipment and clothing in the apparatus bay until decontaminated. Another priority in the design was firefighter mental health. A warning system that slowly ramps up with alert tones and lighting while only alerting responding staff ensures firefighters are not awoken in an abrupt manner. The station includes areas for relaxation with different lighting to promote natural sleep rhythms, as well as a yoga studio and meditation garden. Extensive firefighter training features including Firefighter 1 and advanced training elements are another highlight of the station.
